IPS programme for the Arab countries

The German Bundestag is offering a scholarship programme for politically engaged young graduates from the Arab region who are interested in the German parliamentary system and play an active role in promoting core democratic values in their home countries.

During an intensive four-week programme, participants have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of the German parliamentary system and political decision making processes.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Citizenship of an Arab country
  • Under the age of 35 at the start of the scholarship
  • University degree
  • Very good knowledge of German
  • An interest in politics, and social/political commitment

CrossCulture Internship

Young professionals and voluntary engaging persons can apply for the funding programme CrossCulture Internships.

With its CrossCulture Internships funding programme, the ifa (Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations) is advocating intercultural exchange and the strengthening of networks between Germany and Islamic world as a partner of the Federal Foreign Office.

The programme enables internships for young professionals and volunteers from the participating countries and from Germany. International experience is gained and intercultural competence developed through work stays in another culture. CrossCulture internships open up and strengthen the exchange between people, institutions and cultures and thus enable an enhanced partnership between Germany and Islamic countries.

Deutsche Welle (DW) Programm "Traineeship International Journalism Training"

We are looking for young people from all over the world interested in a comprehensive, exceptional quality journalism program with an international broadcaster. Candidates should have journalism experience or be passionate about technology/IT, economics or the sciences. We are looking for open-minded people full of creative ideas.

The DW editorial traineeship is paid, with a gross starting salary of approx. 1,600 Euros per month. As full-time employees, DW trainees are automatically eligible for German public health insurance. As our trainees move to Germany from abroad, we assist them at every step of the visa process.
