DAAD Alumni in Palestine

Since the late 1950s more than 1,000 Palestinians have benefitted from a grant by the DAAD. Many are still attached to the DAAD and in recent years alumni activities have considerably gained momentum in Palestine. A big alumni conference on “Sustainable Development – a Global Challenge” which took place in November 2011 in Ramallah served as a starting point for these developments. After the model of the alumni club in Gaza which exists since 2006, a similar association for the Westbank was formed in spring 2013. Its first activity was a workshop at Al Quds University on the 21. October 2013. It also served as the stage for the handing over of the official certificates for three equipment grants received by DAAD alumni. In 2015 two workshops took place in Birzeit and Bethlehem/Hebron respectively.

All former scholarship holders are welcome to join the alumni associations and to benefit from the DAAD’s offers.
