Education is decisive precondition for development and a stable existence in a globalized world.
The concept of International Education Management takes up this insight and converts it to the level of practical German (European)-Arab co-operation. Education systems and theories and its administrative implementation within the respective national and international environment are dealt with in consideration of socio-cultural conditions.
Recently in particular the demand for experts in the field of (international) education management has grown.
The implementation of this master’s course as twinning programme aims at two goals: On one hand Arab experts are trained in up-to-date management of education and gain at the same time knowledge on and capabilities in co-operation beyond national borders. On the other hand German participants in receiving a first scientific training in the education sector become acquainted with the conditions of the Arab region and its culture.
The programme runs parallel to the job as blended learning concept. It is divided in four semesters. In each semester one attendance phase in Egypt/Cairo as well as one in Germany/Ludwigsburg is part of the programme. The course has to be completed within three years. The "summer university” prior to the study course comprises an intensive language course in German or Arab respectively and inter-cultural training.
The language of instruction is English. Upon successful completion of the course a joint master’s degrees of the Ludwigsburg University of Education and Helwan University Cairo is awarded.
Besides education management the studies comprise also comprehensive political and socio-cultural subjects. Joint work during the attendance phases is aimed at obtaining inter-cultural communication and management skills that enable the graduates i.e. to co-operate effectively in international scientific-technical and development projects.
