DAAD climapAfrica virtual conference

01. - 02. December 2021

In the climapAfrica program “Climate Research Alumni and Postdocs in Africa” , the DAAD connects high-potential African scientists in climate change research and protection with African experts who are alumni of German funding initiatives in the same field. Through seven thematic working groups, it seeks to encourage the uptake and use of research output within a vibrant, highly connected network and thereby facilitate the development of regional solutions.

Sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and in cooperation with the climate competence centres SASSCAL (Southern African Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management) and WASCAL (West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use), the programme aims to foster application-oriented research to tackle climate change in southern and western Africa.

The DAAD welcomes the climapAfrica community, as well as stakeholders from German and international institutions to join this two-day conference.

The meeting will bring together African and German researchers on climate change and its effects in Africa.
