What Postdoc-NeT-AI offers
Postdoc-NeT-AI for postdocs and advanced doctoral candidates from outside Germany
In this funding line, postdocs and advanced doctoral candidates are invited to apply for participation in a Virtual Networking Week - a biannual offer with changing thematic emphasis. The Virtual networking week includes:
• A general introduction to the German research system and funding opportunities
• Presentations by leading research groups with a focus on the respective AI research sector
• One-on-one meetings with researchers from the participating institutions (depending on their availability)
• DAAD’s commitment to support a one-week follow up trip to Germany financially and organizationally to enable participants to plan their cooperation/their research stay on-site.
• The opportunity to apply for an exclusive short-term research funding which allows successful participants to conduct a research project with a German host institution for a duration between one and three months.
Postdoc-NeT-AI for AI-researchers in Germany
AI-researchers in Germany get access to a significant pool of highly qualified international postdocs and advanced PhD students from a given AI research area, thus providing ideal conditions for the initiation of cooperation and for recruitment. The program includes:
• The opportunity to call attention to the research group by presenting it in the worldwide call for applications
• The involvement in the selection process of Postdoc-NeT-AI fellows to ensure an excellent thematic fit to their own work
• The realization of virtual one-on-one meetings with Postdoc-NeT-AI fellows of their choice – organized by DAAD.
• The opportunity to deepen their contact during onsite-visits of the Postdoc-NeT-AI fellows at the researcher’s institute – with financial support by DAAD.
• The opportunity to host successful Postdoc-NeT-AI fellows for an exclusive DAAD financed short-term research stay for a duration between one and three months.
Postdoc-NeT-AI Database for postdocs and advanced doctoral students from outside Germany and for AI-researchers in Germany
The Postdoc-NeT-AI database is a powerful tool for AI-researchers in Germany to globally promote their research group as well as for international researchers to identify the German research groups with a focus of their choice.
• Each German group is presented with keywords, with contact details, and with a weblink which allows for easy searches.
• Additionally, any research group can announce their open positions via the database.
• The database is updated continuously.
