Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. Deggendorf Institute of Technology (THD) attaches great importance to a varied university sports programme. The sports programme is open to all students and staff and is primarily geared towards grass-roots sports. Performance-oriented participants, however, have the opportunity to participate in university championships as part of a university team or as an individual athlete. THD has a very successful history in this regard, for instance as the German university cup champions in football.
