Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

Many programmes to implement practical projects. Associated with this is the close supervision of students by lecturers. Very close cooperation with the industry. Lecture series in which industry experts present current trends. This gives students an insight into the current state of the art and allows them to explore potential future professional fields at an early stage.

Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

High standard of research. Numerous projects (academic writing, research work placement) enable students to produce publications independently and to work to a scientifically high standard. This optimally prepares students for a later doctorate.

Special features regarding the international orientation

A new type of international degree course (International Engineering), which can be studied purely in English or bilingually. A bilingual academic degree is possible in all degree courses. Large number of international students and large number of partner universities.

Special features regarding the equipment

Students can obtain licences for CAD programs and mathematical calculation software from the department. Due to the university's close ties to industry, large-scale equipment is regularly acquired through industry donations.

Special features regarding research and development

Leading Centre of Excellence for Machining; Innovation and Research Centre in which start-ups can also be provided with premises; Institute of Microsystems Engineering and Coating Engineering

Other special features

Diversity and sustainability are central concerns of the university and represented by a dedicated Vice-Rector.
