Annotation
The "Industrial Engineering and Medical Technology" degree course covers a standard period of study of seven semesters and has a modular structure to ensure flexibility and adaptation to your individual educational goals. In the first three semesters, you will acquire the interdisciplinary fundamentals of Industrial Engineering. This section covers the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) as well as Economics, Law and Social Sciences. This includes the principles of sustainability transformation and digitalisation. In the introductory project, you will familiarise yourself with effective time management and self-organisation techniques. You will learn to analyse your current situation and to set realistic goals. This allows you to adapt your studies to your personal needs, regardless of your learning style. You will also learn how to remain motivated to complete your studies successfully. In the core and extension studies, you will acquire knowledge about medical technology from the second semester onwards. This includes exciting topics such as the Fundamentals of Medicine, Medical Diagnosis and Therapy Technology, Measurement and Control Technology, Digitalisation in Healthcare, Big Data and Data Analytics. You also have the opportunity to specialise in one of five specialisations. In addition, an introductory project at the beginning of the course, a seminar, project work in groups and a practical phase allow you to deepen and apply the knowledge you have acquired in practice, before the degree course concludes with a Bachelor’s thesis and a colloquium.
