Target group

Bachelor’s degree graduates from Computer Science and Data Science should specialise according to their interests in core computer science topics on the one hand and in concrete areas of application in computer science on the other. The curriculum therefore includes compulsory elective subjects in which basic methods of general computer science are explored in depth. In addition, four areas of specialisation are offered: Core Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Information Systems, Human-Centred Computing).

Degree course-specific aptitude procedure: Applications for admission to the Master’s degree programme and the aptitude procedure in the winter semester exclusively via the electronic application portal for the winter semester by 1 June (cut-off date) and for the summer semester by 1 December (cut-off date).

Admission requirements

Three-stage aptitude procedure: 1) Examination of the documents to be submitted in writing 2) An essay written in English (max. 1,500 words) on a given topic (announced by 1 April for the winter semester or 1 October for the summer semester). 3) Selection interview in English (15-30 minutes) on a given topic (announced by 1 April for the winter semester and 1 October for the summer semester) The eligibility parameters are a) existing specialist knowledge and skills in the field of computer science and b) existing methodological and problem-solving skills.
