The degree in the interdisciplinary two-subject Bachelor’s course qualifies for admission to professional life and, DEPENDING ON ONE’S COURSE PLANNING, for the Master’s in Teaching Qualification for Grammar Schools and/or admission to a course of study in a subject-specific Master’s.; for example to the Master’s degree course MSc Geography: Society – Environment – Future at Osnabrück University.

In the dual-subject Bachelor’s degree course, Geography as a core subject can be combined with one other core subject (depending on the chosen career goals: English Studies/English, Biology, Chemistry, Educational Science, Protestant Theology/Religion, Geoinformatics, German Studies /German, History, Computer Science, Catholic Theology/Religion, Art History, Art Education/Art, Latin, Mathematics, Musicology/Music, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Romance Studies/French, Romance Studies/Italian, Romance Studies/Spanish, Sociology, Sports Science/Sports, Environmental Science or Economics).

It is possible to combine Geography as a major subject with one of the aforementioned subjects as a minor subject (except for Educational Science, Latin, Musicology/Music, Political Science, Sociology, Environmental Science and International Economics; HOWEVER, POSSIBLE WITH ECONOMICS) or Geography as a minor subject with the major subjects Biology, Chemistry, Protestant Theology/Religion, Art Education/Art, Mathematics or Physics.

Apart from the subject-related course of study, an interdisciplinary professionalisation area is completed that, depending on the chosen career goals, comprises the core curriculum Teacher Training (IKC) or the acquisition of key competencies on the basis of the 4 Steps+ model.
