The course is aimed at graduates with a first professional degree in Degree courses in the field of Philosophy, Ethics or one that is equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in the amount of 180 credits and subject-related study at a university or equivalent higher education institution in Germany or abroad.

Admission requirements

A subject related requirement is proof of academic achievements in the field of philosophy in the scope of at least 60 credit points and a final grade of at least "good” (2.5). Furthermore, knowledge of Latin or Ancient Greek at an advanced level is required. Furthermore, knowledge of modern foreign languages should be at least level B1. Knowledge of English is particularly recommended, as the course offering is partly based on English-language texts. Any language skills that are lacking can be acquired alongside your studies. International applicants are required to provide proof of command of German at the level of a DSH test (stage 2), a TestDaF (TDN 4) or a recognised equivalent.
