The degree course is aimed at graduates with a first professionally qualifying certificate of academic degree in degree programmes in the field of Bioinformatics, Biology, Computer Science or subject-related study programmes and equivalent to a Bachelor's degree amounting to 180 credits at a university or equivalent higher education institution in Germany or abroad.

Admission requirements

A subject related requirement is proof of a degree in the field of bioinformatics completed with good academic results. In the case of a degree being held in another subject (e.g. Computer Science, Biology), the examination of professional aptitude can, if necessary, be carried out by means of an admission interview. Knowledge of appropriate English for technical purposes and programming knowledge of an advanced programming language and a script language are required. International applicants must provide proof of German language proficiency at the level of the DSH examination (min. level 2), the TestDaF (TDN 4x4) or a recognised equivalent.
