Annotation

The use of electrical energy forms the basis of modern life. Due to climate-related aspects and the limited availability of fossil fuels, the generation, transmission and use of electrical energy from renewable energy sources is of central importance for a sustainable energy supply. However, the generation and feed-in of renewable energies from wind, sun or water pose a major technological challenge due to their availability varying by region and fluctuating depending on time.

The development and application of components and systems for the generation and feed-in of renewable energies requires engineering skills. The Sustainable Power Engineering degree course teaches both the fundamentals of engineering and their application in a practical and energy-related context.
