Admission requirements

The qualification for admission to the Bachelor's degree course in Early Childhood Education is proven by a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification (school and practical part), the general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) or by a previous education recognised as equivalent. In addition, student applicants must provide proof of professional practice in the form of an internship lasting six weeks. Applicants who are qualified as a state-approved educator or who have equivalent vocational training (e.g. state-approved remedial educator), are accredited with 40 credit points and can thus begin the degree course in the third semester. The regular duration of studies is thus shortened to 7 semesters (= 3.5 years) including the Bachelor’s thesis.
