Overview and admission

Study Type

graduate

Admission semester

Summer and Winter Semester

Area of study

Macromolecular Chemistry

Focus

Sustainability, Learning through Research, Life Cycle Assessment, Renewable Resources, Material Cycles, Polymer Chemistry, Biopolymers;, Polymer Analysis, Recycling, Process Engineering

Target group

Modern polymer chemistry involves much more than cheap mass-produced plastic products: Polymers are tailor-made, high-tech, multifunctional and recyclable materials with a wide range of applications. For this reason, polymers are becoming increasingly important in the chemical industry. While polymers currently account for about one fifth of the chemical industry worldwide, only a few students in Europe are being trained as specialists in the field of polymers. The new Master's degree course in Applied Polymer Chemistry addresses this gap in order to qualify more graduates with a sound knowledge background in this important field of chemistry.

Annotation

Admission to the degree course is also possible with a 6-semester Bachelor's degree (180 ECTS) subject to conditions.

Admission modus

Without admission restriction

More information regarding admission requirements

Admission requirements

The Master's degree course is a consecutive degree course and requires a first certificate of academic degree with professional qualification. The prerequisite for admission to the Master's degree course is proof of completion of a professionally qualifying certificate of academic degree in a predominantly chemically oriented engineering or natural science degree course.
