Annotation
In the broad-based degree programme, you will learn the legal, political, social and economic fundamentals. You will discuss issues of justice, learn to help others in socially difficult situations and resolve legal conflicts with a high level of social competence. Social organisations, employment agencies, health insurance companies, cities and municipalities, trade unions, companies in the free economy and many more – social lawyers are in demand throughout Germany. An academic degree in this field is practically a guarantee of employment. A 6-month work placement or a stay abroad help students to identify their own priorities for their future career while they are still studying. Since 2003, only Fulda University of Applied Sciences has offered Social Law as a separate degree programme. New variant: Study "Migration and Law"! The degree course in Social Law will be offered from the winter semester of 2025/26 in the "Migration and Law" variant, which is unique in Germany. The innovative degree course qualifies students in the areas of migration law and migration law advice. The degree programme provides in-depth knowledge of key issues in our migration society that are of great economic and socio-political importance, such as mobility and labour migration, refugee protection and family reunification, integration, naturalisation and social (human) rights. At the interface between law and social sciences, it prepares students to actively contribute to shaping a just and sustainable society.
