Target group

Bachelor's degree graduates in Linguistics, Cultural Studies and Humanities, with an interest in an interdisciplinary investigation of German-speaking, English-speaking and Scandinavian cultural spaces.

Optionally, lecturers are offered in Danish.

Admission requirements

Admission requirements are: an initial academic degree in which one of the following subjects is part of this degree: English / American studies (English), Scandinavian Studies (Danish), German studies (German), Romance studies (French, Spanish), Cultural Studies, Media Studies, Art or Textiles, as well as comparable courses that are available in at least one of the following courses in the Master’s degree course in Culture - Language - Media specialisation areas with at least 60 credit points achieved: Literature, Linguistics, Cultural Studies, Media Studies, Art / Visual Culture as well as proof of sufficient knowledge of the English and German languages, whereby proof must be provided that one of the two languages is mastered at level C1, the other at B2 level.

    International students from non-EU Member States should submit their documents early or better submit their certificates plus translations to the Admissions Office for review before the official start of application. If verification is not possible, the documents must be sent to the central office in Bonn. The examination procedure there can take several months. In order to be admitted to the selection procedure, you must have obtained the results of the test by the closing date for applications at the latest.
