Target group

If you are licensed to practice medicine and are already working as a therapist or doctor or are planning to do so, you can specialise in the highly sought-after field of holistic pain therapy. You will expand your therapeutic know-how and your scientific knowledge in complementary healing methods. Students without a licence to practise medicine expand their holistic range of skills with the Master's degree. Specialists in pain therapy are in demand as therapists in rehabilitation facilities, among other places, as well as in clinical and non-clinical social counselling or as providers of preventive services. It is also possible to work as an instructor in self-help groups for pain patients or of adding non-pharmacological treatment alternatives to your psychosocial work in a professionally sound way.

Annotation

Online study with live online seminars. You can take your exams online or at an exam centre – you can choose each time you register for an exam. Or distance learning on site, with seminars and examinations in Prichsenstadt. Studies commence in April and October. After an individual assessment, it is also possible to start the programme at any other time.

Admission requirements

The following requirements must be met in order to be admitted to the Master's degree programme: - First university degree in the field of health with at least 210 credit points and a final grade of at least "satisfactory" - At least one year of professional experience Applicants who do not have the required 210 ECTS have the opportunity to earn up to 30 credit points at the DIPLOMA University. If the only certificates of academic degree that applicants have do not relate to the field of health, they will be required to complete additional courses outside of the Master's programme. Applicants who do not have a certificate of academic degree may also be admitted to the Master's programme if they meet the following requirements: - Completed vocational training - At least 2 years of professional experience - Successful completion of an aptitude test at Bachelor's level at the DIPLOMA University of Applied Sciences
