It is also aimed at practitioners who already have a job or who have professional experience and would like to extend their qualifications.

The Master's degree in Flight, Migration and Society provides insight into various theoretical and practice-oriented topics. The focus is on social transformation processes as well as interdisciplinary perspectives in flight and migration research. The spatial, economic, socio-cultural and political organisation of social living conditions are dealt with, e.g. historical-social and social conditions of flight and migration or cultural change through flight and migration. Different social fields of action - such as family, education, culture, language and religion - are addressed, as are questions of identity and foreignness. The degree comprises 14 compulsory modules and a compulsory elective area, which allows students to set their own individual focus. Both international study and practical placements can be integrated into the degree course. The degree course can be taken as a full-time and part-time course. The degree qualifies graduates in particular for a wide range of coordinating, conceptual, advisory and managerial activities in the field of migration and refugees. Career prospects open up in public administration at authorities and municipalities, at churches and charities, companies, media, chambers, foundations, non-governmental organisations, educational institutions as well as in research.
