Focus

Sustainable urban development of historic cities, Urban and regional planning methods and strategies

Target group

Applicants with a bachelor in architecture, urban planning, landscape planning or a similar subject interested in the revitalisation of old town neighbourhoods. Willingness to spend two semesters abroad at the partner universities in Cairo and Alexandria is desirable. Proof of sufficient knowledge of English (see website of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg)

Admission requirements

Submission of a project portfolio as proof of sound analytical and conceptual skills for the recognition of problems of urban development, for the definition of tasks, methods and strategies of the urban development processes (digital as PDF, max. 15 A4 pages).

Tuition fees

1,500.00 EUR / semester

The locally customary semester fees are charged only for the studies in the double degree programme. Participation fees are also charged at Egyptian universities (for the second semester at the University of Cairo and for the third semester at the University of Alexandria EUR 1,500 each). In the fourth semester, EUR 750 will be charged by one of the Egyptian universities for the supervision of the Master's thesis.
