Energy is the main topic of the Science Year 2025 in Germany. With the support of the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, the DAAD is organizing a major conference on Green Hydrogen as part of the Science Year 2025. With this conference we aim to

  • present the expertise of the working groups which cover a comprehensive range of topics related to green hydrogen;
  • enable young researchers to exchange ideas and network with experts and other interested stakeholders – including those from politics and industry – in person;
  • advise young researchers on further funding opportunities for their careers in Germany;
  • present Germany and Europe as leading research region in the field of green hydrogen and encourage more international young researchers to cooperate with European institutions.

This conference takes a closer look at the demands and achievements of the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for Green Hydrogen of the European Commission in the last years. Against this background, we would like to review European and international cooperation in green hydrogen to see where more potential can be tapped and how the interests of all sides can be taken into account. In a poster presentation competition, the fellows of the scholarship programme and the members of the working groups get the opportunity to share their knowledge and research with experts and other stakeholders from science, politics and industry. Afterwards, workshops with thematic and regional focus will take place. Last, but not least, we want to take the opportunity to deepen the personal exchange between the fellows and other key players in the field of green hydrogen.
