For the 2026/27 academic year, we look forward to receiving your application for a PhD at the Chair of Romance Literature (French/Italian) at the University of Augsburg. As part of our partnership with the Université de Lorraine (France), PhD candidates can receive financial support from the DFH (cooperational network for french and german universities) for a mobility (e. g. Nancy, France) for up to 18 months and conduct research within a European context. This programme is aimed at interested Master’s graduates who wish to deepen their research into culture, literature, media and the history of communication in the Romance-speaking and European context. In addition to acquiring key research skills such as project management, publication and teaching skills, the PhD programme offers a close international supervision team and provides an excellent entry point into an international research network.
