Description

The Class of Literature, integrated into the Graduate School Language & Literature Munich, is one of the most renowned doctoral programs in its field in Germany. It is supported by all faculties involved in literary studies at LMU Munich. The program offers a systematically structured curriculum with an emphasis on academic research, covering new ground both in terms of organization and of professional specialization. The Class offers a research-oriented structure with excellent opportunities for interdisciplinary and international cooperation. The professors involved in the program represent a broad spectrum of theoretical positions, research methodologies, and different practical approaches.

The Class of Literature welcomes applications from excellent PhD candidates for an attractive PhD scholarship (Graduate School Scholarship Program of the German Academic Exchange Service), specifically available for non-German applicants for up to four years.
