• Standard application procedure

  Application requirements
  Students of the following associated universities, which are part of the Studierendenwerk Ulm (student services), can apply for accommodation in a hall of residence:
  Ulm University, Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education, Aalen University of Applied Sciences, Biberach University of Applied Sciences, Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Design, Ulm University of Applied Sciences, Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University Heidenheim, Schwetzingen University of Law and cooperative study programs with Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences.
  
  For a spot in a dormitory in Aalen please contact the Jugendwerk Aalen.

  Application deadline
  There is neither a deadline nor a closing date. The earlier you apply, the sooner you get a room.

• Erasmus/Exchange students

  The International Office tries to reserve a room in one of the student residences for all students, who come to Ulm University in the framework of an exchange programme with a partner university (Erasmus+, SEMP, bilateral and Baden-Württemberg programmes).
  
  The reservation will be made based on the time period you request in your application form. If there is any change in these dates (i.e. beginning or end of rental period) you must inform the International Office immediately.
  
  If you are assigned a room, you will receive your housing assignment and the information on the necessary advance payment fee by e-mail attachment. Please print out the letter and read all the information carefully. You must then sign the housing acceptance form and return it to the International Office within one week by e-mail attachment. If you are unhappy with the assignment, you may refuse the room; however, you will then have to make your own housing arrangements.
  
  The International Office has no influence over the room assignments. Rooms will be assigned by Studierendenwerk based upon availability. This means that it cannot be predicted when the housing assignments will be available, nor in which residence you will be placed. In fact, the International Office cannot guarantee that all applicants will receive a room.
