Special features regarding the library

Locations: The nine sites are distributed over the entire campus. The central library is the centrepiece.; Stock: With almost 7.7 million media items, the SUB (State and University Library) Göttingen is one of the largest libraries in Germany.; Services: A variety of workspaces and an up-to-date book stock are available at the central library daily until late at night. The building, boasting magnificent architecture, is used by an average of around 5,500 visitors every day. The library has been conferred numerous awards for its services.

Foreign language center and courses

There is a foreign language centre. Languages offered: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Swedish, Russian, Japanese. The recognition of externally obtained credits is based on the university's own recognition procedure.

Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. The programme is open to: PFH Private University of Applied Sciences Göttingen; Verwaltungs- und Wirtschaftsakademie Göttingen (VWA); HAWK University of Applied Sciences and Arts. University climbing hall; university swimming pool with sauna and spa area; University fitness and health centre; university boathouse; largest UNI-league in Germany with over 80 teams; acquisition of credit points in key qualifications in the field of the university sports programme is also possible; varied selection of excursions. Approx. 17,000 users. Sports: e.g. aikido, aqua fitness, Bachata, badminton, basketball, ballet, archery, boxing, Capoeira, cricket, disc golf, dodgeball, fencing, football, handball, dancing, judo, climbing, athletics, lacrosse, yoga, tennis, table tennis, volleyball, water polo, Zumba, swimming, Taekwondo, rugby, ...
