Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. Students can take part in some programmes of the University of Greifswald by individual agreement (but this is not so relevant, as the university’s own programme is excellent). There is a small fee to take part. The university sports centre takes advantage of the university’s location on the water and offers a variety of courses such as open-water swimming, surfing and water skiing. Students can rent SUPs and canoes at the university’s own water sports facility and participate in rowing and dragon boat courses. Canoe polo, which is offered for beginners and advanced players throughout the year, also plays an important role. The team at the university sports centre always strives to establish new programmes based on needs. Alumni and guests of the university can also participate in the courses if there is space. Sports: More than sixty different sports from aerobics to Zumba are offered. These include inclusive sports, exercise courses and preventive sports, trend sports and many games.
