The university offers its own sports programme. Students of the University of Greifswald can use the sports programmes of other universities, if the other universities approve. We are also working with the other state universities and universities of applied sciences on common formats and competitions. Participation is subject to fees. In addition to the public and municipal sports areas, our own sports field, several sports halls, our own callisthenics facility and the gym provide enough space for our approximately 300 courses per semester. In addition, Greifswald is located by the Baltic Sea. This outstanding natural location beside the Bay of Greifswald, on the Ryck and on the Danish Wieck enables access to a wide range of water sports, as well as many courses on the water, on the beach and in the diverse nature and the surrounding climatic spas and recreation resorts. Internal tournaments, workshops and excursions round off our programme. Sports: We offer almost 100 sports in various areas from A for aikido to Z for Zumba.
