Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. Students of the JLU can participate in the sports programme of Philipps University Marburg and the THM (Technical University of Mittelhessen) thanks to a cooperation agreement in place. Participation is subject to fees. Through its varied and qualified sports programme, the JLU aims to offer all students the opportunity to do sports and regular exercise as a balance to their predominantly sedentary study routine. The weekly sports programme with a focus on health promotion features a variety of sports and classes. It is supplemented by events as well as health- and study-promoting programmes, e.g. on the topic of relaxation and stress. Since the coronavirus pandemic, a digital sports programme "ahs@home" has also been offered. Sports: We offer courses in the fields of exercise and fitness, dancing, outdoor sports, martial arts, individual sports, water sports and trend sports, as well as in court sports and ball sports. Course examples: Aqua fitness, badminton, bodyweight fitness, hip-hop, jumping fit, kendo, rugby, swimming, tennis, gymnastics and yoga.
