Special features regarding the library

The library is located in the central, attractive Information Resource Centre, has long opening hours and provides a wide range of technically well-equipped group and individual workspaces. The library focusses on worldwide access to the excellent electronic range of more than 300,000 E-Books, 30,000 electronic journals, as well as a print stock of currently around 60,000 scientific books. Students are given support in all questions related to information acquisition and dissertations may be published online.

Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. Jacobs University is a member of the General German University Sports Association. Jacobs University students can therefore take advantage of sports programs from other universities, for example the extensive range of courses offered by the University of Bremen. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. Jacobs University offers an extensive range of sports for various disciplines and levels of performance. The sports programme is continually being developed. In 2012, a state-of-the-art Sports and Convention Center was opened, equipped with sports halls, a gym and a rowing tank. A swimming pool is also available very close to the campus. The sports program is characterized by attractive regional and national / international competitions and events.
