Locations: Central library on the Emden campus, including media library with psychological test collection, game collection, digital standards display point; Sub-libraries at the Maritime campus and the Business campus in Leer.; Stock: 134,000 printed media items; 105,000 digital resources; 44,100 licensed and digitised journals and newspapers; 60 databases; 1,000 films; Reference management programme.; Services: The print stock and electronic media oriented towards the courses offered by the departments are fully listed in the university library’s online catalogue; The programme is rounded off by numerous specialist databases, e-journals and e-books with a campus licence; Campus licences can also be used off campus via VPN and Shibboleth outside of the opening hours; Training courses, explanatory videos, tutorials and introductions to reference management are offered as required and requested; Group work rooms with media equipment available; Wide range of workspaces, including accessible workspaces.

Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. Students of the University of Applied Sciences Emden / Leer can participate in all sports programmes of other universities on their own responsibility. Students can take part in General University Sports competitions.; The costs are covered in whole or in part. Participation is free of charge. In addition to many interesting courses in sports such as basketball, rowing, or sailing (total of 30 courses), students are able to obtain their sailing and sports boat license within the scope of the sailing sports activities. Through cooperation agreements, students can also make use of the programmes at various sports clubs in Emden. Sports: All programmes of a medium-sized sports club are provided. Due to its location and positioning, water sports play a major role.
