Special features regarding the library

Locations: A library location on the Burren Campus. Opening hours: Mon-Fri 08:00-20:00; Sat 9:00-16:00.; Stock: Printed and digital media on chemistry, technology, optics and ophthalmic optics, computer science and economics: around 49,000 works in print; 329,000 E-Books; 67,000 E-Journals; 90 databases.; Services: Equipment rentals are offered as well (laptops, cables, adapters). New media is purchased with the involvement of students, allowing current stock requirements to always be taken into account. Online there is round-the-clock access to the digital media and services, including from home. Various forms of study spaces are available on-site. The library also offers a comprehensive range of advice and training in a wide variety of aspects of academic work.

Foreign language center and courses

There is a foreign language centre. Languages offered: English, French, German as a foreign language, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Italian online (self-study). Arabic in preparation. Students may take part in the programme of the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education, Hochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd, Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) Heidenheim.

Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. Hochschule Aalen works with the student government association (Verfasste Studierendenschaft) to offer a varied sports programme for all students of Hochschule Aalen. Registration for the university sports programme is held every semester during the first week of lectures. The university sports programme begins every semester in the third week of lectures. Every summer there is also a university sports festival for students and staff. Sports: Football, basketball, volleyball, running, swimming, tennis, table tennis, yoga + stretching, pole dance
