Locations: Theology and Philosophy; Human Sciences; Social Sciences and Economics; Linguistics and Literary Studies; History and Geosciences; ERBA Library; Stock: 1.6 million printed volumes; 1.2 million licensed and freely accessible e-books; 76,000 licensed electronic journals; 800 current journals in printed format; 1,200 databases; Service: Bamberg university library is divided into six sites and is therefore convenient for everyone. Open 24/7 for students with a chip card. It provides a large part of the required literature online, supports students, teachers and researchers in literature and information research, promotes information literacy and electronic publishing (including through the Open Access University publishing house and the research information system) and advises on copyright issues and on research data management.

Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. The students of the University of Bamberg can also use the university sports services of all Bavarian universities. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. We offer courses in fitness, exercise courses, martial arts, court sports, dancing and team sports. The students and staff of the University of Bamberg have inexpensive access to a very diverse and high quality offer. The activities are monitored by well-qualified instructors. For some health-oriented courses, health insurance funds retroactively pay out a bonus.
