Special features regarding the library

Locations: Duisburg-Essen University Library with 6 specialised libraries; Services: Responsible for the supply of literature and information to about 3,200 research assistants and more than 40,000 students of the UDE, but also available to interested citizens in the region. The library supports an integrated research process, from searching for information to media procurement & management. This includes the active promotion of open access publishing in its various versions & the presentation of research output through its supervision.

Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. Participation in sports programmes of other universities is possible for our students. However, in the coronavirus pandemic, most courses take place online in home training. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. The programme is open to: Students of University Ruhr West in cooperation, and students of all other universities. The sports programmes are open to students over the age of 16, university staff and guests. 2009 university sports club; fitness studios on the Duisburg and Essen campuses; trend sports such as American football, spinning, Zumba; Sports trips; cycling programme and more.
