Locations: University library, state library, academic city library; Stock: Stock: 1.75 million volumes, 52,000 journal subscriptions, 6,100 databases, 62,500 e-books, 30,300 manuscripts and autographs; Services: Primarily freely accessible; User-oriented stock additions, teaching of information skills (introductions and training on literature research, specialist databases, Citavi literature management programme); 1,205 user workspaces; Social media presence. Campus library opening hours at Holländischer Platz: Mon.-Fri. 8am to 11pm, Saturdays and Sundays 10am to 9pm.

Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. There is a partnership with the branch office of the University of Applied Sciences for Police and Public Administration here in Kassel. In addition, participation is usually possible at the Hessian locations, although in some cases consultation with the respective institutions is required. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. Countless events: Sports day, Christmas tournament week and party, night football, university football league, beach week, university championships, wide range of programmes, various excursions, elite sports partner university, Unifit gym, various parent-child courses, extensive water sports programme at the university’s own boathouse. Sports: Over 150 sports activities from the fields of fitness & health, ball sports & games, combat & Budo, running and endurance sports, in and on the water, gymnastics and dancing, skiing and snowboarding as well as an extensive digital programme and an attractive health project “Streck-Dich” (stretch yourself)
