The university offers its own sports programme. Students attending the institution can participate in the sports programme of the universities of the state of Saxony/Anhalt and Leipzig. Participation is subject to fees. The programme is open to: Students and staff of MLU and Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle. The supervised fitness area, StudiFit's, is open all year round - also on Sundays and public holidays. Diving training is possible in the sports centre, also including diving excursions. The MLU has been offering the "Break Express", as an active break for employees, since 2016. The university sports centre actively promotes the student health management project. The university sports centre organises or plans university events within its capabilities.
