Special features regarding teaching

Small study groups, very favourable student/teacher ratio. Mentoring programmes that are also specially designed for female engineering students. Preliminary courses in mathematics, comprehensive tutorial programmes. Lots of internships parallel to lecture courses, including in preparation for exams. Student project work, e.g. interdisciplinary ‘Running Snail Racing Team’ with participation in the international Formula Student, Physical Computing project. Intensive supervision of students in small groups, broad range of compulsory electives and selection from among four specialisations permits an individual focus.

State-of-the-art laboratory equipment, e.g. laboratory for electrical machines and drives.

Other special features

High quality of life and attractive cost of living. Seven dormitory buildings located in the immediate vicinity of the campus. The campus right at the edge of the old town of Amberg, with a beautiful old town and a high density of pubs, offers an excellent IT infrastructure, a well-equipped library and a cosy canteen.
