The degree courses of the Faculty of Medicine at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin prepare 8,077 students to shape the medicine of tomorrow through contributions in research, clinical practice, and high-quality health care for the population. Students at the Charité have the opportunity to contribute to the continuous development of teaching and learning through their involvement in the student councils and committees: Milestones were the introduction of the reform degree course in medicine in 1999 and the model course of studies in medicine in 2010.

At the Charité, researchers in the three pillars Faculty, University Hospital and Berlin Institute of Health work primarily in the focus areas of Infection, Inflammation and Immunity, Cardiovascular Research and Metabolism, Rare Diseases and Genetics, Oncology, Regenerative Therapies and Neurosciences to advance forward-looking developments in the field of medicine while maintaining the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
