Special features regarding teaching

The teaching profile concentrates on the settings of schools, sports clubs, local authorities as well as family and examines factors which are responsible for successful exercise, sport and health-related development and promotion. The special features lie in an inter-disciplinary analysis of the socialisation of children and teenagers in terms of exercise. These influence the motor, cognitive, emotional, social, ethical and moral development, as well as address the effects of involvement in sport. Region-specific topics from research projects are included in the course.

Special features regarding the equipment

As part of the new building of a sports hall, facilities are created which are supposed to enable the teaching staff to carry out inclusive teaching in sports classes and the students to carry out inclusive school sport.

Special features regarding research activities

The subject has acquired a national and international reputation through projects (including the "German Children's/Youth Sports Report", "Open Sunday-Open Physical Activity on Sundays", "Language-sensitive School Sports with Refugees"). This applies especially for foreign language publications, the publication index and contributions to the research focus areas of the faculty.
