Further information provided by the department

Special features regarding teaching

The Department of Geoinformatics sees itself as an applied computer science discipline. Therefore, a special focus of the practice-oriented courses of study is the teaching of competences for the management and analysis of geodata as well as for the design and development of - among others - distributed geo-IT solutions. The basis for this is the teaching of solid surveying fundamentals as well as the ability to grasp spatial problems (e.g. in the field of sustainability) and to work on them with the help of current geoinformation technologies.
