Special features regarding teaching

MSc Applied Geosciences: Through the compulsory elective modules, in the Master's course an in-depth specialisation in applied fields such as Geothermics, Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology and Applied Geochemistry is possible. There are two endowed professorships on geothermal energy and technical petrophysics.

Geochemical laboratory (ICP-MS, XRD, WD-XRF, ED-XRF, DTA-TG, IR-MS, FIAS, CSA, IC) Preparation laboratory Mineralogical and geological collection Field laboratory with in-situ and online measuring multi-sensor systems for limnic systems as well as marine waters (Biofish, Biolift, ADCP), atmospheric aerosol collector programs/modelling: Geostatistics-ISATIS (Geovariance). The faculty also has access to the Angströmquelle Karlsruhe (ANKA) at Campus North, which is particularly relevant for theses. There are two endowed professorships on geothermal energy and technical petrophysics.

Practice-oriented research mainly in the fields of hydrogeology, engineering geology, geothermal energy and geochemistry, urban geochemistry, urban hydrogeology, karst hydrogeology, gold deposit science, multi-sensor system development; Geothermal Energy Centre Baden-Württemberg; There are two endowed professorships on geothermal energy and technical petrophysics; Head of the DFG research group "Computer-aided cooperative route planning in multi-scale 3D city and building models".
