Support for founders

At the Start-up Incubator Berlin of the Berlin School of Economics and Law, students can take their first steps from theory to implementation. It promotes ideas, concepts and prototypes. The programme offers students an extensive range of services, including workshops, coaching, team matching, peer learning, mentoring and much more. Entrepreneurial thinking and action are promoted among dual/cooperative students also within companies. This ranges from product and process innovation to the establishment of subsidiary companies.

Characteristics of assistance to differently abled persons

The Faculty of Dual/Cooperative Studies and its partner companies provide intensive support to students with impairments to ensure they can complete their degrees. Students with health issues are supported by university members to assist them in overcoming communicative, structural and educational barriers. They also receive professional support from the representative for students with disabilities and chronic illness on all questions concerning academic life, particularly where equalisation of disadvantages in connection with admissions and exams is concerned.

Characteristics of diversity advancement

As part of the diversity approach of the Berlin School of Economics and Law, an active contribution is made to the implementation of equal opportunities for all students and employees, and cross-cultural rapprochement and recognition are encouraged. The key pillar of this guiding principle is the university’s Cultural Diversity programme, which has been in place since 2012. The programme constitutes a targeted university policy measure to bring to life diversity at the Berlin School of Economics and Law and to spread it to the community as well. The Cross-Cultural Mentoring programme promotes practised diversity as part of one-to-one mentoring relationships.
