Special features regarding teaching

Integration of research key areas in teaching, e.g. lecture on marine biotechnology; competence through expert speakers, e.g. senior hospital physicians in the lecture on the teaching of diseases; student-friendly examination preparation, e.g. student tutorials to prepare for the first section of the pharmaceutical examination, representation of all examination-relevant pharmaceutical sub-subjects by full professors.

Special features regarding the international orientation

The research work in the diploma programme can be done abroad (e.g. Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA), funding through the EU programme Erasmus+ is possible.

Special features regarding the equipment

In 2011, a new research building was moved into which brings together the departments of Pharmacology, Biopharmacy/Pharmaceutical Technology and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology in the Center of Drug Absorption and Transport (C_DAT). In 2014, Pharmaceutical Biology/Medical Chemistry including Pharmaceutical Bioanalystics and Clinical Pharmacy moved into the second part of the new building. Now the Institute of Pharmacy not only has new, state-of-the-art facilities, but also a technically highly demanding pool of equipment for teaching and research at its disposal.

Special features regarding research activities

High degree of networking;participation in various national and international inter-disciplinary collaborative projects with Microbiology, Plasma Physics, Pharmacology, Cardiology, Transfusion Medicine on issues of the pathogenicity of bacteria, immune responses in the cardiovascular area, effect of low-pressure plasma on the organism, functional genome research, drug absorption and transport, complementary cancer therapy; numerous collaborations with industry; good international contacts

Support for founders

Support for the acquisition of research funds and for spin-offs is provided within the framework of the university's personnel development concept.
