Special features regarding research activities

Active research groups in Algebra/Lie Theory, in Dynamic Systems, in Applied and Numerical Analysis; Medical Modelling; Mathematical Physics The faculty is substantially involved in the Transregio-SFB 181 "Energy Transfers in Atmosphere and Ocean", which deals with the theoretical and mathematical foundations of climate modelling. The faculty is home to an "Advanced Grant" of the European Research Council in the field of dynamical systems, which combines research topics between geometry, dynamics, analysis, group theory and numerics.

Support for founders

As an alternative to the full-time internship, students can apply for the StartUp option. The StartUp option allows students who are particularly interested in starting their own business to focus on developing their business plan over a period of two consecutive months. The StartUp option is overseen by the faculty StartUp coordinator.
