The Ruhr-University Bochum supports all students and employees in starting a business through the department "Transfer and Entrepreneurship". The novel transfer and start-up concept of the Ruhr-Universität under the label "Worldfactory" accompanies students on their way to founding a company. In addition to consulting services, free seminars are offered. In addition, the Gründer Campus Ruhr and rubitec GmbH are represented on the campus.
