Special features regarding teaching

The Department of Law has converted the compulsory curriculum to a modular structure. In the specialisation, there are six different areas of specialisation, which also reflect the research done by the local institutes. Aspects of research-based studying and the students’ heterogeneity also play a central role in designing the courses. The two law clinics of the department are examples of this. The university exam preparation course is well established and has been accepted very well by students.

Special features regarding the international orientation

The LL.B. course at the Hanse Law School includes a year of study abroad. A large number of foreign students come to Bremen through their LL.M. degree. The department cooperates with 45 Erasmus partner universities in 18 countries and with 5 universities in Lebanon, Japan, Russia and Tanzania. A number of English-language, partly Turkish-language courses are offered, as well as a "Legal Turkish" course at the foreign language centre of the universities in the state of Bremen.
