Special features regarding teaching

The intensive degree course requires a particularly good staff-student ratio, so the size of the seminars is limited to 25 people. A feature of this degree course is the compulsory language training in two languages during the BA course, which amounts to 12 ECTS credits, as well as participation in interdisciplinary course components amounting to 15 ECTS credits.

Special features regarding the international orientation

The department is strongly international in terms of research; in teaching as well, there are collaborations within the framework of Erasmus+ as well as with various Erasmus partner universities, international MoUs and internationally renowned guest lecturers. BIP on existing joint modules (Adult Education Academy 2022) are currently being developed and may result in a future proposal.

Special features regarding the equipment

The university's technical equipment is very good; The seminar rooms are all equipped with projectors and laptops, the lecture theatres have multimedia equipment. The library is one of the best academic libraries in Germany. A hybrid study room with special technology is currently being set up.

Special features regarding research activities

In particular, the professorships offer research-based courses on the topics of education, difference and plural societies as well as on education, profession and work. Current research priorities (see website of the professorships/faculties) are implemented in teaching research projects lasting 3 trimesters (1 year) together with MA students.

Other special features

HSU is one of two German universities of the Federal Armed Forces. It is a state-recognised university with high-quality, civilian-oriented intensive degree programmes.
