The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering has a variety of technical laboratories, which are incorporated into teaching and research, e.g. automotive test benches, logistics laboratories, materials handing systems, telematics laboratories, electromobility laboratories, mechanical engineering testing grounds, laboratories for measurement and materials experiments, CAD development and simulation laboratories, rapid prototyping laboratories, EGO incubators programme, Galileo Test Bed Saxony-Anhalt.

Special features regarding research activities

The Faculty regularly conducts a number of research projects, the results of which are integrated into teaching and students also have an opportunity to collaborate in the research projects. The Master's degree programmes also include a research-oriented project.

Support for founders

The Transfer and Incubator Centre of the OVGU Magdeburg aims to transfer high-potential research findings to regional and inter-regional industry and render them accessible to all market participants. The TUGZ concentrates on the following approaches: Identification of high-potential individuals and target groups, analysis of the value creation potential of product and business ideas, as well as target-group-oriented marketing.
