Special features regarding teaching

Support of Green Voltage Racing e.V. The Formula Student Team of TU Clausthal aims to build an innovative electric racing car. Annual design competition as part of the Development Methods lectures in cooperation with industrial companies – teams work on a practice-related topic from industry with tight deadlines. The teams' performance is assessed by the companies and the university. Participation in the ChemCar competition for designing a model vehicle that is driven by one or several (bio)chemical reactions.

Special features regarding the international orientation

In the summer semester of 18, the proportion of foreign students in the department was 35%. The students came from 53 different countries. There are over 50 international collaborations within the department as part of the Erasmus programme and a further 10 international collaborations outside of the Erasmus programme.

Other special features

The TU Clausthal offers a number of activities "by students for students"; the mechanical engineering, process engineering and chemical engineering student body, for example, organises Office and Latext courses every semester, which is financing from study quality resources. For more than 10 years, the student body has also been running a material library for DIN A3 drawing boards every semester, which are used in the Technical Drawing module for example. University sports at the TU Clausthal enjoys an excellent reputation with students, which regularly surveys confirm.
