Description

The Max-Eder research group led by Dr. med. Livius Penter is looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate in the field of translational tumor immunology with a focus on blood malignancies and stem cell transplantation. 
The aim of our group is to dissect how tumor and immune cells interact and to develop strategies to achieve long-term tumor control using therapeutic immunomodulation based on modern single cell genomics sequencing methods and primary human blood or bone marrow samples. 
Our approach entails deep analyses of our own and public immunogenomic single cell and bulk datasets, followed by in-vitro validation experiments. 

We are looking for

• Completed degree in biological sciences, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or a related field
• Previous experience in the above mentioned methods
• Programming skills in R, Python, shell, or similar languages in a UNIX environment
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Interest in learning and developing novel sequencing and bioinformatics analysis methods
• Critical and independent working style
• Interest in immunological and tumorgenetic questions, as well as a combination of wet and dry lab work
• Interest in collaborating with national and international research groups
• Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English
• Strong organizational skills

Job Information

• Pay scale E13 according to TVöD- VKA- K. The grouping takes place under consideration of the qualification, the respective experience level is calculated from the completed professional years. The annual salary (gross) is given for a full-time position without annual bonus, allowances and additional services. You can find the collective agreement here.
• The working time is part-time with 25,35 hours per week
• At our company 30 days of vacation are standard
