Admission requirements

- Proof of a higher education degree qualifying for a profession or equivalent qualification with at least six semesters of standard study time (180 LP) or a comparable degree in musicology with a corresponding subject grade of at least good (2.50)\; for foreign financial statements, translation according to a modified Bavarian formula - musicological components in undergraduate studies amounting to at least 60 LP - for applicants with a First State Examination for the teaching profession of music at grammar schools, proof of an average grade of at least good (2.50) - in the subject combination, the average grade for the subject music applies - in each case in conjunction with a written assignment in accordance with § 29 LPO I (admission paper) from the field of historical musicology, - Proof of German language skills at the level of the German language examination for university admission for foreign applicants (DSH-2) or an equivalent German language examination (applies if the university entrance qualification or first degree was not obtained at a German-speaking educational institution) - If no certificate can be submitted during the application period: Proof of study and examination achievements of at least 150 LP (certified list of all achievements to date and a provisional average grade in the subject Music)\; then provisional admission and subsequent submission of the certificate with a grade of 2.50 or better by the end of the first semester Application deadline: January 15 of each year for beginning in the following summer semester and July 15 of each year for beginning in the following winter semester Applications to be submitted to: Institute for musicology at the University Regensburg
